Quantitative Researcher Intern

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Quantitative Researcher Intern to join one of our trading teams. You’ll draw upon your computer science, mathematical, and analytical abilities to develop complex and nimble code used to grow our business and increase the efficiency of the global financial markets.

Responsibilities:

• Designing, implementing, and deploying mid-frequency trading algorithms
• Working with a dedicated mentor to research and enhance existing trading strategies
• Exploring trading ideas by analyzing market data
• Creating tools to analyze data for patterns
• Contributing to libraries of analytical computations to support market data analysis and trading

Qualifications:

• Available for 3-6 months for either a part-time (10-20 hours/week) or full-time (40 hours/week) internship
• A Master's and/or PhD in mathematics, statistics, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or related fields
• Deep understanding of machine learning/deep learning concepts to solve real-world applications, i.e. optimization techniques, customized loss function, parameter tuning
• Strong experiences with tree based and Neural Network based model building and experiments iteration
• A strong background in C++, R, Python, or an object-oriented programming language

Anticipated New York weekly base salary range $3,000-5,000.
