Manager, Enterprise Data Governance & Catalog

Job Summary

Lead the organization-wide data governance and catalog programs. The position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices, both at the department, business and functional areas level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business objectives.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 5+ years in data governance or data analyst role
• Experience Required: Knowledge of data governance practices, business & technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets (MDM)
• Experience Desire: leading data quality and data protection management practices
• Prior management; Data Process Mapping & Lineage; Retail data/systems/application support
• Education Desired: Bachelors Degree in Master Data Management or related field
• Experience Preferred: Knowledge of data architecture and technology solutions
• Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise-wide data governance program & framework, with a focus on policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture.  Define the roadmap to deliver the data governance & catalog strategy – managing the delivery of all aspects to land the agreed solutions for Enterprise Data Governance & Catalog programs. 
• Serve as a liaison between IT, business and functional areas to ensure that data related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of both strategic and operational planning / prioritization.  Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for data stewardship of the company’s principal information assets, including the mentoring, coaching and development of the data stewards.  Mentoring, coaching and leadership to matrixed (dotted-line) data analysts/stewards as well as direct reporting Team Members. 
• Manage the strategic & tactical projects related to data, data governance and data catalog programs.  Role will partner and collaborate closely with the product teams, product managers and scrum master to ensure successful delivery of enterprise projects.
• Provide data & technical support related to Master Data Management, Data Quality and Enterprise Data Management program
