The Role
The Director, Analytics Engineering CoE is responsible for data provisioning, management, consolidation and standardization across International Banking in alignment with the Enterprise Data Strategy. The incumbent is expected to enable data-driven decision making throughout the region by developing data engineering assets that aligns with our business strategy. The incumbent will also be regularly called upon to participate and support regional projects through data enablement. This role serves as the data engineering point of contact across International Banking who acts as a subject matter expert to support including, but not limited to, business insights for portfolio management, BI/Reporting, client analytics, advanced analytics, and pricing. The role is responsible for the development and implementation of market-leading data assets that drive and capture business value. The incumbent will lead and develop a team of senior data engineering professionals across our footprint, ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge data programs across International Banking. The incumbent will act as a champion for our business products and the client, while at the same time assessing activities to consider their impact on all potential stakeholders.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be involved in:
- Providing data engineering support for International Banking’s Analytics and Business stakeholders to drive sustainable profit growth.
- Being the primary data engineering executive for cross-functional stakeholders and their initiatives, providing end-to-end data support by actively communicating with both business and analytics stakeholders within the organization (e.g., Reporting and BI, Advanced Analytics, Pricing and Analytics Engineering).
- Overseeing the data assets, including client dynamics and strategic KPIs, providing the business team with the data that will contribute to the improvement and optimization of the overall portfolio financial performance.
- Implementing end-to-end data engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards through agile practices for flexibility, adaptability, and continuous improvements.
- Identifying bottlenecks, streamlining workflows and optimizing data processes with automated monitoring and alerting mechanisms for data pipelines.
- Actively participating in strategic planning meetings, supporting client and business line driven analytical insights that will inform the overall strategy and direction of regional business initiatives.
- Driving adoption and usage of the new Cloud capabilities and migration to the new GCP based platform.
- Empowering and enabling the data engineering team to achieve business objectives by creating a workplace environment that is open, with frequent lines of communication between team members.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have the following:
- Proven expert in data management and data engineering.
- The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar from an accredited post-secondary institution, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Banking & Analytics.
- A solid knowledge and understanding of data engineering concepts and methodologies; proficiency utilizing a variety of data tools and programming languages.
- Recognized and resilient team leader who inspires a results-oriented customer-centric culture.
- Exceptional business planning, strategy development and execution skills.
- Proven relationship management skills with demonstrated seamless collaboration across multiple stakeholders including senior executives.
- Experience in leading teams and working with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strong collaborative skills—Data & Analytics is a team sport.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain data and findings to a non-technical and executive audience.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
- Self-motivated, driven and impact oriented.
- Strong business acumen, problem-solving and analytical skills to rapidly assess problem situations and creatively develop alternate solutions and approaches necessary to resolve high-level, complex problems.
- Knowledge of Banking products, Risk Management and Finance is a plus.
Working Conditions
- Work in a standard environment (from home and occasionally office-based); non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel internationally.
