Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a People Data Manager to join our Group People team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The role will be based at our Basingstoke office, with our London and Poole offices also available base locations. 

 

We are seeking a People Data Manager to lead a team of data analysts in supporting our global transformation programme. This role will drive data handling, analysis, process implementation, and reporting to ensure smooth and efficient organisational change. You will work closely with People Business Partners, managers, the Finance team, and the programme delivery team to deliver accurate, high-quality data insights that support strategic decision-making.

 

What you'll do;

 

Leadership & Team Management👨‍💼 Lead a team of data analysts for transformation success.📋 Manage & prioritize tasks for efficient service.👩‍🏫 Support & develop up to 4 analysts.

 

Data Ownership & Management📊 Oversee global people data for change implementation.📝 Maintain and configure spreadsheets for employee data.🔄 Integrate transformation data into permanent records.

 

Data Quality & Analysis✅ Ensure data accuracy & troubleshoot issues.📈 Analyze data for legal, communication & decision-making.🔍 Maintain quality control over transformation data.

 

Reporting & Stakeholder Support📢 Provide clear data for People, Finance & Executives.💰 Track benefits & resolve Finance queries.📊 Centralize data reporting to ease People teams' workload.

 

Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement🛠️ Troubleshoot & fix data-related issues.🔄 Support business areas in resolving People data challenges.💡 Drive innovation with analytics for better decision-making.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven data analytics experience.
  • Experience managing other data analysts to achieve a specific outcome.
  • Experience of handling sensitive data, and of compliance with data protection standards.   
  • Experience working in a global context across different languages and cultures desirable.
  • Experience of working with employee personal data in an operational HR context desirable.
  • Experience in Development of Power BI, from inception through to delivery including; dataflow design, report design, testing and release, would be an advantage.
  • In-depth advanced Excel and data analysis skills combined with the ability to make insightful recommendations on what the data shows.
  • Excel skills must include copy/paste, IF and OR statements (e.g. sumifs and countifs), INDEXMATCH, dropdowns, pivot tables, conditional formatting, vlookups, creating formulas, managing large data sets for analytics, etc.  Macros would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work with challenging and disparate data sources.
  • Highly numerate and adopts an analytical, innovative and questioning approach and can draw conclusions and make proposals based on data and other information.
  • Ability to manage a team, direct and guide the work of others, give feedback and take responsibility for the outputs provided to stakeholders.
  • Leadership skills to manage and support a team of analysts.  
  • A strong focus on data integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to represent the Programme professionally and with credibility to managers and employees at all levels.
  • The ability to present data in a manner which is clear and easy to understand.
  • Proven skills in developing and managing relationships with People teams and senior management.
  • Excellent professional and personal manner, including strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Resilience, flexibility and energy to be effective in a fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills and knows when to escalate issues.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, use discretion and manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to be pro-active, anticipate issues and effectively problem-solve.
  • Ability to apply an organized and systematic approach to accomplishing project deliverables.
  • Competent in use of all standard MS Office suite including Powerpoint.

Pay Range

Compensation between GBP £50,000.00/Yr.-GBP £60,000.00/Yr.
