Team Overview
The Data Quality Manager (DQM) leads the Data Quality Assurance Team (DQAT) to support the strategic direction and market share growth of the company with a focus on data quality improvement. Using knowledge of industry standards, the DQM defines data quality requirements, providing results-focused perspective on long-term data integrity, and data-driven objectives.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the strategic growth and development of the Data Quality Assurance Team, including conducting roadmap planning and setting/adjusting department priorities and strategic objectives
- Leads the operational performance of DQAT and is accountable for the team achieving its departmental objectives
- Works with People & Culture (P&C) and the Senior Director of Operations to create an organization structure that supports DQAT development as well as a safe and healthy working environment
- Hires and line manages DQAT staff members, monitoring performance and developing individual capability
- Provide guidance and support for goal creation and achievement through Performance Management Program
- Lead and empower employees using the performance management process to achieve departmental and individual objectives
- Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and corrective action, with the support from People & Culture (P&C), when necessary.
- Write job descriptions and design recruitment testing in order to identify and vet the right candidates
- Responsible for assessing an applicant’s skill set, and likelihood of success and fit on the DQAT. Collaborate with P&C to improve the hiring process
- Resolve Data Quality issues to:
- Triage activities according to business impact
- Record and report findings using standardized processes
- Conduct root cause analyses, as necessary
- Propose corrective actions
- Manage the creation of weekly/monthly data quality scorecards
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of data quality resources, including a company-wide data quality library of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Coordinate the execution of data profiling by using appropriate tools such as Splunk or SQL
- Coordinate, interpret, apply, and communicate Policy Reporter data quality principles to the wider company, including data stewards, technical owners, and company stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product, Software Development and Data Analytics teams on initiatives in order to achieve Policy Reporter’s strategic objectives
- Champion the DQAT cause within Policy Reporter. Act as an ambassador for the DQAT to the rest of organisation, promoting team successes and championing initiatives to overcome team challenges
Qualifications
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Splunk an asset
- Demonstrated understanding of statistics
- Interest and ability in solving complex problems using data-driven decision making
- Ability to communicate complex, industry specific subjects and ideas clearly, adapting your communication to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to develop cross team relationships
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Intimate familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint an asset
- Understanding of healthcare, health insurance, device and pharmaceutical industry products and processes an asset

Compensation: $85,000 - $98,500 CAD
