Data Architecture

If so MAPFRE USA is looking for a self-motivated team player with a growth mindset to join the Data Engineering team as a Data Architect. You will be part of the Data Engineering team reporting to the AVP of Data Engineering and help MAPFRE in its transformation journey to become a true Data Driven Organization.
Data Architect will work with cross functional teams and is responsible mentoring the data engineers and other architects to drive team efficiency and achieve our strategic goals. The data architect will provide the technical vision and direction to the teams. You will be a key player in enhancing the MAPFRE cloud data platform which supports the warehouse, advance analytics, machine learning and has governance and data quality checks built in. You will be defining the lifecycle of the data from ingestion, curation, storage to its actual consumer use.
As a Data Architect you will be creating and managing the data architecture for MAPFRE USA and chairing the data architecture review board. As a thought leader in the organization, you will continuously improve the data architecture practices and keep up with the evolution of technology.
As part of a fast-paced agile team you will lead with influence and collaborate with infrastructure, security, public cloud, and business units.
Responsibilities:
- Backend Architecture: Knowledge and ability to design and develop the internal data architecture of cloud and on-premises solutions, and the tools and programming languages necessary to ensure the correct functioning of all internal elements.
- Integration of systems and technologies: Knowledge of the characteristics and facilities of the systems and the ability to integrate and communicate between cloud and on-premise applications, databases and technological platforms.
- IT standards, procedures, and policies: Knowledge and ability to use a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage the organization's IT policies, standards, and procedures.
- Platform Technology: Knowledge and ability to request, propose, review, recommend modifications, recommend adoption, and maintain cloud and on premise technology specifications in pursuit of established objectives in terms of modeling technologies.
- Cloud computing architecture: Knowledge and ability to design, evaluate and improve cloud computing architecture to better support the requirements in cloud computing services.
- Data architecture: Knowledge and ability to design blueprints on how to integrate data resources for business processes and functional support.
- Information security architecture: Knowledge of cloud tools and techniques used to create application software, hardware, networks, and infrastructure; ability to meet information security objectives while using them.
- Enterprise IT architecture: Knowledge and ability to create and develop the guiding principles and business architecture of a company, including organizational structure, process architecture, and performance management, as well as information, cloud applications, and supporting technology.
- Devops: Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools that lead to a reduction in the time to deliver the solution, a better adaptation to the market and competition, improvement of the stability and reliability of the system and an improvement of the average recovery time.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data architecture and data-driven initiatives.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Growth mindset and continuous learning attitude.
- Relevant technical certifications and educational background.
- 10 years of experience
- Insurance knowledge a plus.
