Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a Data Scientist / Research Analyst to support JFHQ-DODIN.  Location: Fort Meade, MD.  In this role, track trends in reporting to form a broader combined operational picture of the DODIN risk posture.

Tasks include:

  • Data collection
    • Effectively garner data from systems such as Mission Assurance Decision Support System (MADSS), Secure SMADSS, Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRSS), System Network Approval Process Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring (CMRS), Big Data Platform (BDP), DoD Information Technology Repository (DITPR).
  • Support research studies to answer senior leader questions  
    • Provide analysis, risks, and options
    • Support decision making
  • Maintain an Operations Analysis SOP 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Must be capable of building Python scripts and packages that will be used by data analysts.
    • The Python scripts will use supervised and unsupervised ML (both text and image-based machine learning), natural language processing (named entity extraction, summarization, etc.), and network analysis (social network analysis, centrality analysis, dynamic network analysis).
  • Must have expertise in maintaining and deploying a notebook-based data science environment (JupyterHub).
  • Must have experience in advanced Python data science packages (pandas, networkx, scikit-learn, pyTorch or TensorFlow/Keras, matplotlib or plotly, etc.).
  • Active TS clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.  .
  • U.S Citizenship required

Preferred:

  • TS SCI
  • Familiar with cloud-based data warehousing, specifically Big Data Platform (BDP).
  • Familiar with SQL and noSQL data storage methods.
  • Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering, SysML, and modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Able to comfortably collaborate with DoD stakeholders (DISA, National Security Agency, USCYBERCOM, Service Components, DAOs, OPCA, DOD CIO, Joint Staff and Program offices).

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
