This position involves designing and delivering enterprise BI and analytics solutions, developing and maintaining data pipelines, and promoting self-service analytics across the enterprise. Responsibilities
- Design, create and implement comprehensive BI and analytics solutions, and encourage the adoption of self-service analytics throughout the organization.
- Develop, maintain, and support modern data pipelines while staying informed on data analytics trends and following industry best practices for data warehousing, ETL, ELT, and data analytics.
- Design and build data solutions and reporting needs with customers and stakeholders. Coordinate with vendors to meet company standards and needs.
- Ensure the team designs, builds, tests, and maintains solutions for data transformation from a variety of data sources while modeling data in an efficient and performant manner.
- Document solutions, metadata, and processes to the required company standard.
- Assist in problem management and root cause analysis.
- Partner with cross-functional Enterprise Data Management and Data Science teams to understand analytic requirements and build efficient and scalable data solutions.
- Build data expertise and employ best practices in engineering and analytics: data quality, test designs, code reviews, documentation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Work with team and product owners to prioritize and estimate effort.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including planning, pointing, demos, and retros.
- Assist with the DataOps delivery pipeline and processes.
- Participate in architectural design decisions and communicate those to your team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or analytics.
- Strong knowledge of data visualization tools and SQL.
- Strong knowledge of data transformation tools and techniques.
- Experience building and designing BI semantic models in SSAS tabular with deep knowledge of dimensional modeling (e.g. Ralph Kimball methodologies/Star Schema)
- Experience with modern data science languages and tools. Experience with data pipeline tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF preferred) or Databricks workflows.
- Experience with data engineering for machine learning consumption.
- Experience with Azure cloud and Python for data transformation.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a collaborative, team-centric approach.
- Comfortable using work management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Experience using version control such as Git, TFS, or SVN.
- Understanding of web services and other Application Programming Interfaces.
Preferences:
- Experience developing and operationalizing data pipelines for consumption in machine learning solutions within Databricks.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and practices.
- Strong consultative approach to problem-solving.
