Data Analyst – Data Platform & Analytics

Working in the Data Platform & Analytics team at Sky Italia means finding solutions to address challenges, providing a first-class data platform, and identifying and building advanced use cases that extract value from data to generate actionable insights in compliance with all standards.

Role Purpose
With the aim to maximize the value of data, support the business, and foster the development and growth of the Big Data platform, the candidate will join the Machine Learning Development team to manage end-to-end analysis activities, driving the data analytics transformation and evolution toward data-driven approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with different business units to define use cases, ensuring win-win solutions to be developed or enhanced.
• Analyze use cases from both functional and technical perspectives, working closely with Data Architects and Data Engineers to define solutions.
• Support Project and Delivery Managers during the feasibility analysis phase of initiatives.
• Adopt technical standards aligned with software development strategies and process automation.
• Propose ideas and evaluate technological or process opportunities to innovate existing solutions.
• Maximize the value of Sky’s data assets by leveraging heterogeneous datasets, raw data, and complex models through descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics techniques.

Additional Activities:

• Conduct requirement analysis and effectively communicate results.
• Communicate project goals and plans clearly to cross-functional teams.
• Participate in meetings with business stakeholders and development teams, adhering to technical standards in line with corporate guidelines.
• Assess the adoption of Big Data architectures versus Data Warehousing solutions (on-cloud or on-premise).
• Perform impact analysis for the company’s core projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in data analysis across relational and non-relational databases.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture and SQL/NoSQL, including querying, modeling, and data structures.
• expertise in Python/R or other programming languages for advanced analytics and machine learning use cases
• Proficiency in data reporting and analysis tools (e.g., Tableau).
• Proven experience in developing/managing reports and dashboards and presenting data effectively, clearly, and comprehensibly.
• Preferred knowledge of data modeling and data enrichment techniques.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in English.
