What You'll Bring:

• A graduate degree in the hard sciences with advanced coursework in statistics, data science or similar areas
• 2+ years of professional analytical modeling experience, solving actual problems for industries such as Financial, Telco, Fintech and Insurance sectors
• Expert proficiency with one or more programming languages such as R, SQL, Python, Hive, Spark
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
• You are an expert with the Microsoft Office product suite, particularly Excel.
• You have a great sense of the BUSINESS QUESTION. You realize that data must be transformed into business solutions to be meaningful.

You have a strong customer service orientation. You mean it when you ask, “How can I be of service?” You recognize that internal customers are as important as external customers.

Impact You'll Make:

This position is responsible for developing credit risk management and business intelligence analytic solutions through consulting engagements and research serving TransUnion’s clients. This position requires an understanding of consumer lending and credit risk management practices.

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver innovative analytical products and insights. You will be directly involved in the development, deployment and monitoring of predictive modeling and business intelligence solutions for clients such as credit lenders, insurance carriers, and other financial services institutions
• Design and lead initiatives involving descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis leveraging a variety of techniques such as statistical and machine learning models to make deliverables on time
• Dig in by extracting data and performing segmentation and statistical analyses on large population datasets (using languages such as R, SQL, Python, HIVE and Spark)
• Deliver analytic insights and recommendations in succinct and compelling presentations for internal and external customers at various levels; may lead presentations to clients
• Help to cultivate an environment that promotes excellence, innovation, and a collegial spirit
• Proactively seek out opportunities for innovation and present new ideas and solutions on behalf of the team
• Use version control tools such as Git, Bitbucket to manage projects.
• Understand the life cycle of models and products within an organization

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
