Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Scientist with expertise in theoretical and computational modeling to join our research team. In this role, you will develop mathematical frameworks, computational simulations, and analytical methods to describe complex physical systems, working closely with experimentalists and interdisciplinary scientists to validate and refine your models. Your insights will directly influence experimental design, data interpretation, and technology development, ensuring a tight loop between theory and practice.
If you are a scientist who enjoys bridging the gap between theory and experiment, with a passion for developing models that have real-world impact, this is the perfect opportunity to push the boundaries of physical science while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
About Your Role 📰 | What Will You Be Doing? 👀
Develop and refine mathematical models for complex physical systems targeting personalized medicine, ensuring their applicability to real-world experiments.
Work closely with experimental teams, translating theoretical predictions into testable hypotheses and guiding data collection/analysis.
Apply analytical and computational techniques, including simulations and numerical modeling, to study physical phenomena.
Utilize statistical physics, quantum mechanics, and applied mathematics to extract meaningful insights from experimental data.
Assist in analysing and interpreting experimental data, ensuring that theoretical expectations align with practical feasibility.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in physics, computational modeling, and advances in spectroscopy for clinical applications.
Communicate findings effectively across disciplines, ensuring alignment between theoretical and experimental efforts.
Contribute to research publications, patents, and presentations at leading conferences.
Requirements ✔️
Strong expertise in theoretical and computational physics or applied mathematics, with a demonstrated ability to apply these concepts to real-world experiments in an interdisciplinary setting.
Proven experience working at the interface of theory and experiment, collaborating with experimentalists, interdisciplinary scientists and engineers.
Proficiency in numerical modeling, simulations, and data analysis using Python, Julia, or similar tools.
Ability to develop and implement physical models, differential equations, and computational frameworks to solve complex problems.
Experience with data-driven approaches, signal processing, or machine learning for scientific applications is a plus.
A deep curiosity for solving interdisciplinary challenges, with an innovative and problem-solving mindset.
Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex theoretical concepts into practical applications and to non-specialists in a clear engaging way.
Proven track record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals or major scientific conferences.
Qualifications
PhD or Msc in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Physical Chemistry, Mathematics, or a related field. Exceptional candidates with a Master’s degree and extensive research experience will also be considered.
+3 years of experience in academia or industry, working on modelling and simulations with experimental applications.
Experience in developing theories/models that have been tested in experimental setups.
Previous collaboration with experimental physicists, engineers, or applied scientists.
Experience supervising junior researchers is welcome but not required.
This is a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects at the intersection of theory and experiment, developing models that shape cutting-edge technology and scientific discoveries. If this excites you, we’d love to hear from you! 🚀
