When looking at a data set are you curious, yet creative and critical in your thinking?  Can you confidently draw out data to illustrate outliers using various business intelligence tools?

Come and join our highly regarded team working with colleagues across the whole of Social Care and Targeted Family Help Services in building on excellence and continuous improvement.

About the Role

The Service Progression and Sustainability Team supports Social Care and Targeted Family Help Services in the sustainability of new ways of working. This role also works closely with our Commissioning Service.

You will research and gain knowledge around local market pressures, as well as analysing our own performance and present data on a regular basis which will inform what services are currently used and what future demand looks like. You will also contribute to the development of departmental strategies, and support change programs which require data analysis during the diagnostic and design stage of these programs.

The person we are looking for will be comfortable supporting and liaising with the Finance Business Partner, Heads of Service, Service Managers, and Team Managers on a regular basis.

The focus of this role is on continuous service improvement and ensuring that the presentation of data to inform care and support needs of our children is strong. Your ability to identify the best reporting mechanisms for performance data including comparative analyses within the Department is essential.

You will be involved in discussions analysing system requirements, organising the implementation of system enhancements, and testing new developments to ensure they meet the needs of the service.

A thirst for continuing professional and personal development is crucial to this role to ensure that skills and knowledge are maintained and updated as you inspire, generate enthusiasm, and share good practice. This will also support your ability to help develop and present training materials.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Have recognised Academic Qualifications e.g. 'GCSE', 'A' Levels, Vocational Quals, Professional/Further Education Quals in a relevant area, or substantial demonstrable experience as identified in the following points.
  • Have experience, within a Children and Families Department, of aligning systems and processes, reducing duplication and bureaucracy as well as providing the information and tools to enable managers to have management oversight of performance.
  • Be a strong communicator who inspires, generates enthusiasm, and shares good practice with colleagues at all levels. Form and maintain constructive working relationships where your credibility enables you to support change processes.
  • Be able to analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data, presenting findings to a wide range of audiences, whilst prioritising effectively a range of competing demands to meet deadlines and respond flexibly to changing requirements.
  • Be able to use information technology applications e.g. Microsoft Outlook Word and database applications (Tableau, Power BI) as relevant to the department,
  • Apply the principles of equal opportunities in service provision, promoting anti-discriminatory practice.
  • Be able to prepare detailed and accurate reports for managers and strategic boards and support the compilation of data and information for Ofsted and regional peers, ensuring the consistency of high-quality clean data.

You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.

In addition, we also expect you to share our commitment to our values and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.

Reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with a disability.
