JOB SUMMARY:
The intern will learn how to develop backend microservices and the base framework for microservices using NodeJS and TypeScript/Javascript and tests for the code that they are writing, following standards and best practices. They will also learn about the complete process to deploy functionalities to production environment and the plethora of teams that make this happen. They will be part of an Agile scrum team which is a key style of project delivery in the industry. They will also get knowledge of DevOps such as learning about pipelines and CICD processes and use AI for writing full stack applications for internal use.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partners with teams working on delivering core services used by various applications in the park or digitally.
- Assists teams write code, using proper patterns and coding standards as outlined by the services team.
- Platforms endeavors where assistance is needed to improve services.
- Writes full-stack internal applications using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
- Preferred majors include: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Familiarity with Programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript and NodeJS.
- Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server and non-relational databases such as MongoDB or Couch DB.
- Experience utilizing algorithms to write logic for services endpoints.
- Experience with version control.

- This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than December 2025.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
- All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
