We are looking for a Senior Search Engineer to help build and scale Fullscript’s search experience. The Search Team is responsible for everything search-related on the Fullscript platform, enabling healthcare practitioners and patients to seamlessly find the right products to support their wellness journeys. As a Senior Engineer, you will contribute to search architecture, optimize indexing strategies, and improve the search experience through relevance tuning and performance enhancements.
This role requires hands-on experience with search technologies, ranking algorithms, and scalable indexing. You will collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to improve search capabilities and drive innovation in search-related features.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and optimize search capabilities within Fullscript’s platform.
• Improve query performance, ranking algorithms, and relevance tuning.
• Implement and maintain large-scale indexing pipelines.
• Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to enhance the search experience.
• Monitor and troubleshoot search performance issues.
• Apply machine learning and AI techniques to improve search relevance and ranking.
• Develop logging, analytics, and observability solutions for search insights.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor junior engineers.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Strong experience in software engineering, with a focus on search technologies.
• Strong experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or similar search engines.
• Understanding of information retrieval, ranking algorithms, and query parsing.
• Experience working with high-scale search applications.
• Proficiency in Ruby, Python, Java, or another backend programming language.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, TypeScript, and React is a plus.
• Experience with vector search, learning-to-rank techniques, and AI-powered search is a bonus.
• Passion for search engineering, scalability, and performance optimization.
