LOCATION: Apply Digital is hybrid/remote friendly. The preferred candidate should be based in Canada, working in hours that align to ET (Eastern Timezone) or PT (Pacific Timezone).
THE ROLE:
The Director, Data Strategy is a strategic consulting role at Apply Digital that provides discovery, planning and strategy services in collaboration with our broader Strategy, Technology Strategy, and Data teams. This role is designed for an entrepreneurial leader who understands the power of data in transforming business operations, strategies, and customer experiences. As Director, Data Strategy, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive data strategies that align with our technology solutions and drive significant value for our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead workshops, work with stakeholders to craft data and analytics strategies, and deliver executive level presentations.  Craft and execute a visionary data strategy that complements our technology solutions, enhancing both our internal capabilities and our clients’ competitive edge. Lead the integration of data analytics into our platform solutions, ensuring a seamless and impactful delivery of data-driven insights.
  • Account Growth: Leverage Technology and Data Strategy led engagements to sell the broader value of Apply Digital services, drive ongoing program engagement and serve as a key thought leader within client accounts.
  • Data Governance and Management: Establish robust data governance frameworks and management practices to ensure the quality, integrity, and security of data across all projects. Drive the adoption of best practices in data management, ensuring compliance with relevant data protection regulations.
  • MarTech and AI: Strong background in MarTech and AI to lead our data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Marketing Automation (MA), Data Warehousing, Personalization, Analytics, and Generative AI. This role is crucial for driving our data strategy, ensuring robust data governance, and leveraging advanced analytics to deliver personalized customer experiences.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to our clients on all data-related matters. Understand their business challenges and objectives, and provide strategic data insights and solutions that align with their goals. Foster strong client relationships through exceptional service and the delivery of measurable business outcomes.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across technology, marketing, sales, and operations to integrate data strategies with broader business objectives. Facilitate the sharing of insights and best practices across teams to enhance overall service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Innovation and Thought Leadership: Stay at the forefront of data trends, technologies, and analytics practices. Drive innovation within the company by exploring new tools, techniques, and methodologies in data science and analytics. Contribute to the company’s thought leadership through publishing articles, participating in conferences, and engaging in industry forums.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with a proven track record in data strategy, analytics, CDP, MA and data management.
  • Experience in a consulting or enterprise environment, with a strong understanding of digital platforms and technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep knowledge of data governance, data management practices, and analytics tools.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate complex data insights into strategic business recommendations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing talent.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client engagements and business development opportunities.
