We are seeking an Investment Services Specialist to play a meaningful role in the management of Enterprise market and reference data at OTPP.
The successful candidate will support various systems associated with activities related to the collection, validation, archiving and distribution of a variety of data, along with ensuring the consistent delivery of complete, accurate and timely data to downstream applications. The data supported includes a diverse set of traded instruments, including equities, fixed income, options, futures, FX and complex derivative products.
Who you'll work with
You will partner with other members within our Financial Operations Team in the research and resolution of data quality issues. You will also collaborate with various internal and external service providers in the delivery of timely and accurate data.
What you'll do
Ensure overnight processing has completed and work with internal and external teams to resolve issues.
You will be responsible for the management of data exceptions. This includes the research and resolution of data breaches in accordance with the expectations outlined in our Service Level Agreements.
Assist with the monthly generation of operational metric reports. Including the collection of information required for metric reporting and the reviewing of results.
Assist as required with project work for the department under the guidance of the Financial Analyst and Senior Manager.
Identify and carry out improvements for the unit. Collaborate with team on process and efficiency improvements, implementing and documenting the approved changes.
Address all client queries in the expected timeframe with expected results. Ensure we are executing on the Service Level expectations of our clients.
Collaborate with service providers and/or vendors to ensure product deliverables meet expectations.
What you'll need
Relevant university degree (such as Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science) or equivalent relevant experience with Investment Finance processes
Knowledge in the following areas: (1 or more years of experience)
Securities – Listed, derivatives, market indices, alternative assets
Pricing – both market available and evaluated
Corporate actions and associated lifecycle events
Legal Entities – parties and investment vehicles
Reference data – asset/industry classification, holiday calendar
Ability to communicate effectively with the business and Information Technology
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to think through problems, assess a variety of factors and recommend a solution
Good knowledge of third-party data vendors, along with experience using Bloomberg and Refinitiv terminal products
Understanding of database technology and concepts
Knowledge and experience with asset management systems and platforms such as: security master data management (Markit EDM, Charles River and SimCorp) and legal entity management (LE Hub)
Proficient in Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SQL for querying large data sets
Working knowledge of Oracle EDQ, Python, PowerBI, Power Apps and Confluence are an asset
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to effectively deal with internal and external clients and suppliers
Canadian Securities Course
Ability to cover early morning or end of day shifts (hours of operation 7 am to 6 pm) as required
