Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$162,000 - $237,600

The Director, GCO Global Data Strategy and Delivery will be responsible for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of master data essential for all global customer-facing processes. This role will establish and deliver Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with the business in partnership with Tech at Lilly. Additionally, this role will collaborate with the business and T@LLY to define, establish, and implement data strategies and global governance of data standards and processes for both personal (HCPs, HCOs) and non-personal master data to support analytics, customer operations, and deliver capabilities to improve customer experience.

Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Achieve results by leading others and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
  • Build and maintain a strong functional team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building, and succession planning. Directly supervise 8-12 professionals.
  • Deliver vision for Master Data Management core platform transformation to enable Lilly to continue to manage customer data effectively while increasing efficiency and AI deployment. 

Health Care Professional Data Governance

  • Lead the continued development and enforcement of guiding principles, processes, governance, and ongoing support for the commercial use of HCP data.
  • Lead the development of good data principles, standards, and practices for MDM platforms.
  • Lead the Global Commercial Data Governance Council.
  • Participate as a member of the Enterprise Data Council.
  • Sponsor the AI/Gen AI and Data Management Frameworks.

HCP Master Data Strategy

  • Partner across all customer-facing functions, business units, and geographies to ensure critical business partner needs are translated into data strategy and requirements, enabling prioritized business capabilities.  These approaches should maximize value generation and efficiency across Lilly. 
  • Maximize deployment of Enterprise ready data products and strategies to power AI & Gen AI capabilities across the globe. 
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the commercial data transformation roadmap. Serve as product owner for commercial data for enterprise data initiatives (e.g., enterprise data backbone).

Data Delivery

  • Partner seamlessly with customer-facing functions, business units, and geographies to ensure operational standards and governance are in place, ensuring alignment and adherence to master data standards.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for ongoing master data enhancements.
  • Establish and monitor end-to-end data flow for key customer processes.
  • Lead and proactively plan delivery for core business process data needs (e.g., alignment changes, automated customer data flows).
  • Act as the business/system owner for global data tools, championing the data change control process, providing updated data process or tool training, and participating in any data audits.
  • Identify and deliver operational efficiency opportunities for established data stewardship standards, processes, and tools.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and partner with IDS in data-related issues to mitigate business impact and develop learning loops to determine preventive and proactive actions.

Partnership

  • Build and maintain relationships as a member of the GCO leadership team to ensure seamless coordination and effective data integration.
  • Provide leadership to align Tech platforms and tools to address key business needs across global affiliates, organizations, and functions, utilizing knowledge of business processes and technology.
  • Manage relationships with service provider vendors.

Basic Requirements

  • Education: BA/BS required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience with master data for a company.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience leading cross-functional, global projects and/or teams.

Additional Preferences

  • Previous experience developing and implementing data strategy.
  • Previous experience in global data stewardship.
  • Previous experience/certifications with Identity, privacy and security master systems and data
  • Experience with partners including but not limited to: Auth 0, Syrenis/Cassie, Reltio, Okta, One Trust, Transunion. LiveRamp
  • Previous experience leading, developing, and implementing global data capabilities.
  • Previous experience in operations roles with familiarity in commercial business processes.
  • Proven ability to influence others at higher levels in the organization and across functions.
  • Proven ability to manage conflict effectively.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills to evaluate and resolve complex operational issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience leading and/or managing people.
  • Demonstrated learning agility.
