The Opportunity

Join Adobe in a role where your contributions will make a direct impact on the digital experiences of millions. As a Sr. Software Development Engineer, you will have the outstanding opportunity to work on brand new technology within a world-class team in San Jose. Your role will be pivotal in developing and optimizing AI models for Adobe's flagship products like Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). We are looking for dedicated individuals who are eager to collaborate with hard-working researchers, engineers, and product managers to drive innovation and implement outstanding solutions.

What you'll Do

  • Work closely with Researchers, ML Engineers, Software Developers, and Product Managers to understand the requirements and provide solutions.
  • Convert, optimize, and deploy AI models for Lightroom applications and Adobe Camera Raw (ACR).
  • Use deployment-ready model formats like CoreML, ONNX, etc., to support all Lightroom surfaces: macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, and Web.
  • Collaborate with Researchers to optimize models for tasks related to photography, such as object detection, scene recognition, and various improvements.
  • Profile models thoroughly across all platforms to assess run-time performance, accuracy, and inter-device consistency.
  • Develop, refine, and document model conversion workflows and standard processes.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in model conversion and deployment tools.

What you need to succeed

  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience of 5+ years.
  • Proven experience in software development, particularly within the realm of AI model deployment.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar.
  • Expertise in working with CoreML, ONNX, or other model deployment frameworks.
  • An inclusive approach with the ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
  • Ambitious and determined to deliver high-quality, efficient solutions.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $153,600 -- $286,600 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
