Overview:
We are seeking an Automation Engineer to adapt the design, set up, maintain, and optimize robotic systems used in production. This role involves robotic system installation, servicing, data analytics, failure analysis, and quality verification to ensure efficient and reliable automation processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics, automation, and data-driven diagnostics.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and program robotic systems for production automation.
  • Integrate robotics with Programable Logic Controllers (PLC) systems, sensors, and control software.
  • Ensure seamless connectivity between robots and factory automation networks.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and electrical components.
  • Upgrade robotic software and firmware to enhance system capabilities.
  • Collect and analyze robotic system performance data to identify trends and inefficiencies.
  • Develop predictive maintenance strategies using AI and data-driven insights.
  • Optimize robot motion paths, cycle times, and energy efficiency for maximum productivity.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for robotic system failures and performance issues.
  • Perform stress testing and simulation modeling to enhance reliability.
  • Monitor and validate robotic system output to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Develop automated testing procedures for robotic performance evaluation.
  • Implement quality control measures to meet industry standards (ISO, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.).
  • Report to management and customer progress and roadblocks, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager to accomplish production goals.

Skill/Knowledge Qualifications:
  • Experience with machine learning for predictive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of IoT integration in robotics and smart manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for robotic system design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical skills for failure analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Hands-on experience with diagnostics tools and predictive maintenance software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional working experience with robotic systems.
  • Proficiency in robot programming languages (e.g., RAPID, KRL, Python, C++).
  • Certifications in robotics engineering or industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming.
