Nokia Bell Labs is the world-renowned research group of Nokia, having invented many of the foundational technologies that underpin information and communications networks and all digital devices and systems. This research has produced nine Nobel Prizes, five Turing Awards and numerous other awards.
Integrated Solutions and Experiences in Bell labs Solutions Research creates end-to-end solutions and experiences by turning research into practical systems. The team is focused on impactful research outcomes in industrial automation and is therefore very hands-on and collaborative. There are many opportunities for extensive interdisciplinary work. Your work will create an impact by solving hard challenges in indoor autonomous industrial automation space, advancing the state-of-the-art, and developing innovative solutions for real use cases. Our focus is to enable reliable wireless communication as a foundation for building collaborative cloud robotics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Conduct Experiments: Plan and execute experiments to test and improve wireless communication technologies.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to draw meaningful conclusions and guide future research.
- Develop Prototypes: Create and test prototypes of new wireless communication systems.
- Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers and other scientists, to integrate wireless solutions into industrial processes.
- Publish Findings: Write and publish research papers, reports, and presentations to share findings with the scientific community and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: Ph.D. or master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on wireless communication.
- Experience: Proven experience in conducting research in wireless communication, preferably in an industrial context.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Golang, or Python.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with industrial wireless communication standards and protocols.
- Knowledge of machine learning and its applications in wireless communication.
- Experience in system level Linux kernel development – device drivers, eBPF, TCP/IP stack.
