We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of GenAI-based Shape Optimization.

 

What awaits you?

  • Interdisciplinary Work: Engage in the intersection of Physics, Generative-AI, and shape optimization.
  • Algorithm Development: Design, implement, and analyze state-of-the-art Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) algorithms tailored for CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) applications, and compare them to numerical baselines.
  • Agile Project Organization: Be part of a Munich-based feature team working in an agile project setup.
  • Numerical Approaches: Design, implement, and analyze numerical methods for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and shape optimization.
  • End-to-End Responsibility: Potentially deploy ML algorithms in the development environment, ensuring comprehensive responsibility from development to deployment.

 

What should you bring along? 

  • Enrolled in Master’s in Mathematics, Computer Science, Computational Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
  • A keen interest in AI problems and a strong practical approach to solving them.
  • Proficiency in Python with practical experience in at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch or JAX being an advantage.
  • Familiarity with and initial practical experience in programming, ML, and DL.
  • Understanding and experience in numerical methods for CFD simulation.
  • Expertise with libraries such as Scikit-Learn, OpenCV, and NumPy.
  • Strong team spirit and communication skills.
