Senior Data Analyst

The Senior Data Analyst serves as a technical expert and project leader, managing complex analysis initiatives and mentoring junior team members. This role requires deep technical expertise, the ability to design and implement advanced analytics solutions, and collaboration across departments to drive data-driven decision-making. The Senior Data Analyst is also responsible for ensuring data accuracy, governance, and scalability while aligning data strategies with organizational goals.

Essential Functions 

• Lead and execute complex data analysis projects, providing actionable insights for business decision-making.
• Design and optimize advanced SQL queries, data pipelines, and data models to streamline data processes.
• Develop and implement scalable reporting solutions and dashboards using enterprise BI tools (e.g., Power BI, ThoughtSpot).
• Mentor junior analysts by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and training on best practices in SQL, BI development, and project management.
• Inspire team members by modeling best practices and fostering a culture of excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and design technical solutions that align with organizational goals.
• Facilitate and lead discussions with stakeholders, translating business needs into technical specifications.
• Regularly present insights, strategies, and recommendations to leadership in a clear and actionable manner.
• Drive best practices in data governance, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to organizational standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues proactively, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Document complex data models and processes to support knowledge sharing and long-term scalability.
• Develop technical specifications for data warehouse development, ETL/ELT processes, and system integrations.
• Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake) and modern data architectures to improve data accessibility and infrastructure.
• Explore and implement innovative analytics tools and methodologies (e.g., R, Python, dbt) to enhance data capabilities.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Information Systems preferred (equivalent experience in healthcare analytics related fields or equivalent work experience accepted)
• 6+ years of relevant healthcare analytics, data analytics, or healthcare operations experience.
• Expert-level SQL skills for complex data modeling and analysis.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python or R for analytics and process automation.
• Strong experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, ThoughtSpot) and dashboard development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Snowflake) and modern data architectures.
• Proficiency in ETL/ELT processes and tools for data integration.
• Demonstrated experience optimizing usage of version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and propose solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and presenting insights.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of big data technologies and frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience with healthcare data architecture and models.
• Understanding of advanced analytics solutions.
• Experience with data governance frameworks and DevOps practices.
