The Programme attracts talented students or recent graduates to the Organization and provides them with:
- A better understanding of the Organization’s goals and objectives and how international police cooperation is organized

- Experience of working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary and multi-ethnic environment, contributing to the development of mutual understanding, trust and tolerance

As of 1 January 2025, the internship allowance is EUR 700 and a transport subsidy of EUR 30 per month. An additional housing subsidy of EUR 170 per month will be provided to eligible interns.
Interns are required to be subscribed to a health insurance coverage for the entire duration of the internship. However, they are eligible to request enrolment in the Organization’s health insurance coverage at no additional cost.

Primary duties
The purpose of the internship is to take part in the daily activities of the INTERPOL Medical Services Unit, specifically in the project of transferring electronic medical records to a new Health Data Management Software. The intern will gain a stronger perception of occupational health tasks, particularly within an international organization. The intern will work under the supervision of the Head of the Medical Services Unit (Occupational Health Doctor) and will assist the medical team in performing the following tasks:
- Assist in digitization and transfer of Medical Data to the Health Data Management Software.
- Organize and prepare medical files for transfer and perform archiving of the transferred medical records including paper files.
- Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate with members of other teams, e.g., medical teams and secretaries in other INTERPOL duty stations, IT specialists, legal counsels, Health Data Management Software providers.
- Assist in drafting internal standard operating procedures concerning health data management.
- Assist in coordinating the logistical side of the project across all duty stations.
- Participate in internal meetings and take minutes when required.
- Assist the members of the medical team in their daily work as the need arises, to gain exposure to other aspects of the lifecycle of health data.
- Assist in scheduling medical appointments for INTERPOL’s staff.
- Assist in analysing and presenting data relevant to the Medical Services Unit.
- Participate in communication actions of the Medical Services Unit.
- Assist in organizing the seasonal vaccination campaigns.
Working on the project, the selected applicant will:
- Gain hands-on experience in working with Health Data Management and Health Data Management Software within Occupational Health context.
- Gain experience in working with a multi professional team (doctors, nurse).
- Gain knowledge in occupational health.
- Understand the lifecycle of Health Data.
- Obtain full awareness of the sensitive character of Health Data and the requirement to process these data with utmost respect and in complete confidentiality.
- Participate in the implementation of legal and regulatory requirements related to health information storage and management and assist in reflecting them in internal policies or standard operating procedures or perform their updates.

Requirements
- Be a national of one of INTERPOL’s 196 member countries.
- Have attained the legal age in the country of nationality.
Training / Education required
- Be enrolled in, or have graduated from, a post-secondary accredited academic institution within year of the date of application submission, in the field of Health Information Management, in Health Administration, or similar.
Languages
- Professional fluency in English and French is required.
- A good command of any other INTERPOL official language (Arabic or Spanish) would be an asset.
Technical skills
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is essential.
- Knowledge of a health data management tool would be an asset.
Abilities required
- Discipline and high degree of self-motivation.
- Good communication skills, and good social, specifically multicultural, skills.
- Good drafting skills.
- Organized, meticulous, thorough, and able to ensure consistency in the work.
- Sense of discretion.
- Service/client oriented.
