Job Summary
Real Chemistry is looking for a Senior Software Developer to serve as primary or sole developer on several interactive apps and websites. Our team develops various projects throughout the year, and we are looking for a programming partner to help maintain our velocity.
What You'll Do
I. Execution & Work Output
Develop interactive experiences for a wide range of projects including:
Cross-platform desktop apps using libraries such as Electron or Unity
Cross-platform mobile apps using libraries such as Flutter or Unity
Responsive webapps using libraries such as React or NextJS
AI applications for generative art using Stable Diffusion or other platforms
AR/VR/MR experiences using Unity, Unreal or native libraries
Graphics-forward experiences showcasing and embedding the beautiful visuals created by our talented team of artists
Collaborate on execution and delivery
Provide technical guidance through the design process to ensure design and user experience align with best practices for all target sizes/devices
Develop and deliver functional requirements, technical specs, or other documentation required by the client
Determine the most efficient and performant technologies to develop the end-product. This may include developing native mobile apps, cross-platform apps that may need to share content among many devices, web sites or other media
Potentially develop interactive prototypes for proof-of-concept to determine technical feasibility and lay the groundwork for final production
Determine and evaluate any technical integrations with client-based or third-party platforms as needed for the project. These may include metrics/analytics platforms, cloud databases, email services, or any other back-end functionality
Assist with third-party vendors and provide technical guidance and oversight on communication and deliveries
Determine optimal paths to deliver review builds to external stakeholders, including Box links for installable apps, password-protected web sites, and beta-testing channels for mobile apps (TestFlight, AppCenter, etc.)
Work with external stakeholders to establish best methods to deploy end-product as needed. This may include providing installers with any helpful documentation, delivering build files for upload to their servers, or possibly assisting in the setup of servers or on-site hardware.
II. New Business
Play an active role in project initiation
At the start of a project, help define key deliverables and due dates in conjunction with Account, Project Management, and Production teams
Work with production and account teams to align on forecast hours, project objectives and technical approaches
Participate in the ideation process, primarily in a technical capacity
Help define all front/back-end functionality requirements
Recognize potential project challenges, alert the creative and account teams, and collaborate on strategic, creative solutions
Ensure team receives necessary technical info for required assets and that files meet necessary specs before delivery
III. Client Engagement/Communications
Provide input in early internal and client discussions regarding technical approaches for new opportunities
Participate in reviews with clients, including the curation of deliverables with Associate Creative Director (ACD)
Participate in calls with vendors to ensure tech specs/needs are met on both sides
Travel on-site as needed for installation and/or technical guidance

Iterate with team members, ensuring technical approach aligns with creative direction

What You Should Have:
Proficient knowledge of front-end programming languages including web (HTML/CSS/JavaScript), mobile apps (iOS/Swift, Android/Java), AI (Python), cross-platform, and/or real-time 3D (Unreal or Unity)
Broad knowledge in a variety of programming languages (Python) and an ability to seek out and learn modern technologies to continually improve our technology stack
Working knowledge of back-end or full-stack development using a variety of platforms included AWS, Azure or other
Excellent organization and communication (written and oral) skills
Advanced interpersonal skills, leading collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Account, Production, Strategy and Project Management
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, primarily to work with source design assets and prepare them for inclusion in production apps
Detail-oriented and can effectively multi-task between various ongoing projects
Maintains professional manner in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
VI. Education & Experience
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Portfolio demonstrates exceptional technical execution and innovative solutions to production or conceptual challenges
Five or more years of industry experience
Pay Range: $70,000-$85,000
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location.
