Job Description
The Data Science Operations Support Manager will be an integral component of Jazz’s Data Science Operations team and report directly to the Head of Data Science Operations. The role responsibility reaches across all Data Science (DS) functions. The Data Science Operations Support Manager will be accountable for driving DS vendor engagements for department resourcing efforts, as an end-to-end process. They will drive process for the engagements, inclusive of vendor selection and management, cross functional collaboration with legal and compliance partners, as well as finance.
The Data Science Operations Support Manager will provide strategic support to the Data Science Department in assisting functions with resource management, portfolio system support, and compliance. They are responsible for providing streamlined external personnel management, establishing assessments of the department’s book of work, and interacting with vendors. They will oversee resourcing projections for the functions within Data Science. This will also include tracking, analyzing and reporting on metrics in order to identify and implement on process improvement opportunities and report back to the business on the metrics and areas of improvement.

Essential Functions
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with vendors, assisting with inquiries, onboarding, and issue resolution.
- Establish governance protocols in partnership with procurement to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of vendor relationships..
- Develop and maintain FSP worker documentation, such as vendor profiles, contract summaries, and feedback details to ensure accuracy, transparency, and a valid resourcing forecast.
- Oversee and maintain the Data Science portfolio management tool, including development of resourcing needs across all functions over a 3, 6, and 12 month period.
- Oversee and work collaboratively with members of study teams to ensure portfolio timelines are accurate.
- Presents and exchanges information about projects and areas of responsibility to team members and functional peer groups
- Act as an advisor to functions as an SME of operations
- Develop and support the creation of operations playbooks to ensure optimal use of analytics tools and platforms utilized to deliver in areas of accountability such as resource management, and portfolio oversight.
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business to ensure delivery of key aspects of operational effectiveness
- Contribute to operational process improvements and problem solving
- Support the Data Science department with LMS and time reporting compliance
- Tracking, analyzing and reporting on internal and external resourcing across within and across functions and studies.
- Support Head of Data Science Operations to enable tools and systems to deliver and track effective operational developments.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to vendor management, proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation within the data science organization.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Previous experience either within operations and/or logistics and planning is preferable.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to coordinate tasks, track progress, and report on project status effectively.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity and collaboration required
- Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism in all activities.
- Strong leadership, team building, negotiation and ability to execute a must
- Experience driving best practices and operational excellence in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
- Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail
- Excellent writing and communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- Collaborative and actively seeks to partner with cross-functional and matrix teams
- Exhibits strong organizational skills and able to manage multiple priorities, meetings and logistics
- Able to think ‘big picture’ to develop holistic, integrated monthly reports and/or dashboards for Data Science teams
Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
- High school degree required, bachelor’s degree is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, project management, or department management role. Experience working in the life sciences industry working within global teams preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, Smartsheets, and the ability to learn new operations/project management software as needed
- Certification in project management is a plus.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the full and complete base pay range is:
$116,000.00 - $174,000.00Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.
At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz’s Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
