ROLE OVERVIEW: 

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeller to join our team and contribute to the design and development of robust data models that underpin critical business processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in translating business requirements into comprehensive conceptual, logical, and physical data models while ensuring alignment with best practices in data architecture and management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate business requirements into detailed conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Recognize and implement appropriate relational design types, including OLTP, OLAP, and Data Warehousing, based on requirements and Logical Data Models.
  • Collaborate in mapping Logical Data Models to Physical Data Models and vice versa.
  • Design and create data models for large datasets being sourced into Big Data platforms.
  • Support and refine data models and data dictionaries for enhanced usability and accuracy within the Banking and Financial Markets context.
  • Partner with stakeholders to manage expectations, ensuring minimal business and customer impact.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Data Modeler within the Financial Services sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data models, data dictionaries, and relevant domains, including:
    • Party/Client
    • Trade
    • Settlements
    • Payments
    • Instrument and Pricing
    • Market and/or Credit Risk
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and Entity-Relationship (ER) modeling.
  • Expertise in slowly changing dimensional data warehouses and methodologies such as Kimball dimensional modeling and Star Schema.
  • Proficient in working with on-premises and Cloud Data Lakes and data warehouse architectures.
  • Hands-on skills in SQL, Python, and Scala (preferred), with familiarity in Hive, CMD, and tools like Note++.
  • Strong understanding of data handling controls and compliance requirements.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • A proactive, energetic problem-solver with strong business analysis capabilities.
  • Organized multitasker, adept at prioritizing tasks in fast-paced environments.
