Your role at Clorox:

Clorox is seeking a Director of Data Governance to lead our master data and enterprise data governance, driving alignment and accountability for data across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned champion of data and analytics with deep experience with data governance, master data management, and in leading change that creates measurable business impact.
In this role you would partner across functions and business units to ensure strategic and high-value initiatives leverage data governance, driving adoption and value of our data for the business. You would drive our success through data on major tech transformation initiatives including our new ERP implementation. This includes directing the data governance vision, ensuring that data assets are dependable, trustworthy, accessible, comprehensible, and utilized in a consistent, compliant way, thereby driving our business growth. Reporting directly to the VP of Enterprise Data Strategy & Operations, you would work in collaboration with business stakeholders and senior leaders as well as peers in data architecture, engineering, and analytics. This is a highly visible role, making vital contributions to Clorox's enterprise-wide digital transformation and beyond.

In this role, you will:

Deliver best-in-class ERP migration data & analytics enabling seamless customer experience as part of Clorox’s Elevate digital transformation enabling seamless data and application of AI.

  • Deliver MDM capabilities and solutions supporting best-in-class ERP migration. Ensure these solutions meet ERP migration program requirements, governance and controls, and data quality needs.

  • Oversee and drive data migration and validation, ensuring data is profiled, cleansed, migrated, and documented on time with high quality.

  • Proactively anticipate, define, and communicate the processes, controls, and governance over master data, data migration, and analytics.

Champion data governance and drive cultural change, ensuring data governance initiatives and their value are understood and adopted by the organization globally.

  • Facilitate data governance committees and communities including the Data Governance Council to promote adoption, ownership, partnership, and multi-domain problem solving for data resulting in accessible, transparent, and compliant data sets to drive sustained value.

  • Identify, train, and coach data governance roles, formalizing responsibilities to ensure clear accountability for stewardship of Clorox’s key data assets.

Collaborate with business leaders to enhance data quality, value core data assets, and comply with regulations.

  • Implement and enforce the data governance framework to maintain data policies, standards, and practices, ensuring consistency, quality, and protection for business needs.

  • Drive the establishment of data quality standards across the enterprise.

  • Identify any needed new data governance tools, and influence decisions around major data architecture investments led by Enterprise Data & Tech (IT).

  • Proactively scan for industry trends and keep Clorox ahead of emerging developments through a strong external network.

Ambitiously expand the reach and utilization of centralized master data management to new domains to drive growth through frictionless utilization of core data across business processes.

  • Create and execute a plan to centralize key master data management beyond ERP, facilitating quicker adoption of advanced analytics and AI in business units and commercial functions.

What we look for:

  • 10+ years of experience in data management and analytics with a track record successfully driving  data governance and master data, preferably in the retail or consumer goods industry.

  • 3+ years in a senior management role including transformation leadership experience at the enterprise level.

  • Experience building key business relationships to influence senior leadership, enable cross-functional cooperation, and negotiate enterprise outcomes.

  • Experience with Data Quality Management and Data Architecture standardization.

  • Exposure to large platforms and applications in technology development, testing, and maintenance capability.

  • End-to-end understanding of data-driven business processes, BI/data analytics, database technologies, data ingestion & processing, and cloud-based infrastructure platforms (e.g., Azure data lake, SAP and other ERP systems, etc.).

  • Ability to collaborate with and influence senior leaders on data issues and drive action. Proven consulting skills in change management, including communication, culture change, and performance measurement design.

  • Expertise in explaining how data adds business value and quickly converting this into a data strategy. Ability to communicate the vision and mission of transformation efforts.

  • Excellent communicator with strong conflict management and negotiation skills, able to build trust and secure stakeholder buy-in within complex organizations. Capable of creating clear and impactful communications and artifacts.

  • Effective developer of leaders and high performing teams with focus on engagement, talent management and building an inclusive employee culture.

  • Results-oriented and resilient, capable of working in a highly dynamic environment with multiple priorities. Possesses the ability to take charge and manage an entire work-stream with minimal direction, while effectively leading a team to achieve their objectives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or other relevant field required. Master's Degree or MBA preferred.

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

–Zone A: $175,100 - $360,700

–Zone B: $160,500 - $330,700

–Zone C: $145,900 - $300,600
