As an autonomy engineer on our team, you have the chance to design and develop autonomous software systems in support of critical Navy missions. Your technical expertise will be vital as you evaluate and modernize UxS software, sensors, and testing. You’ll develop your skills in embedded application development and systems engineering while gaining experience in cybersecurity, test and evaluation, and hardware integration. You Have:
2+ years of experience with software engineering for autonomous or unmanned systems
Experience in programming languages, including C++, Python, and Java
Experience with real-time operating systems and embedded systems programming
Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS)
Experience with testing and validation processes, including simulation, closed-course testing, and operational field trials
Experience working on collaborative software development efforts
Ability to interact directly with clients to identify problems, analyze data, generate solutions, and communicate results
Ability to conduct at-sea testing and operational field trials
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
Experience with sensor fusion, perception, localization, path planning, and decision-making algorithms
Experience with control systems theory and autonomous navigation algorithms
Experience with DevSecOps practices for secure software development and deployment
Experience with machine learning models for predicting vehicle behavior and ensuring robust decision-making
Experience working with DoD clients to model, maintain, or integrate complex electromechanical systems
TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred; or Master's degree in Engineering a plus
Linux OS Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
