Description
The Photos UI Engineering group is made up of teams that work closely together to build all the customer-facing features in the Photos apps across all platforms (iOS, macOS, tvOS). The Photos app is used by millions of users every day to access their photo library, relive memories, edit, organize, share, and more. As a Tooling and Triage Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of the Photos software by focusing on automation and advanced tooling. You will enhance and expand our internal tools suite, including developing new AI-driven tools to streamline the triage process, reduce manual effort, and improve efficiency. While automation is a primary focus, you will also review and analyze incoming bug reports, prioritizing critical issues and ensuring they reach the appropriate teams. Additionally, you will collaborate with engineers to test and validate features, leveraging both traditional and AI-based tools to optimize workflows and deliver a superior user experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automation tools and framework
- Familiarity with one or more scripting languages: Python, Ruby or Swift
- Familiarity with one or more object-oriented programming languages: Swift/Obj-C/Java/C++
- Solid understanding of software testing processes and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in debugging analysis.
- Knowledge of AI/ML-based solutions for automation, including experience with AI frameworks or tools (optional but highly desirable).
- Proficient in debugging and issue analysis, with a strong ability to break down complex problems into actionable tasks.
- Strong prioritization and judgment skills, capable of identifying and escalating critical issues quickly.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present technical information clearly.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $205,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
