Job Title: BI Engineer - Power BI

Position Overview:

As a BI Engineer specializing in Power BI, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders across the organization. You will be responsible for dashboard design, semantic layer refinement, and dashboard report development, ensuring that our BI solutions meet business requirements and drive strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Power BI and a passion for leveraging data to deliver value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into actionable insights through interactive dashboards and reports.
• Design and develop visually appealing and user-friendly dashboards using Power BI, incorporating best practices for data visualization and storytelling.
• Refine the semantic layer and data model to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and reliability across dashboards and reports.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to transform and load data into the Power BI environment.
• Optimize query performance and data refresh schedules to ensure timely and reliable access to information.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from multiple sources and ensure data quality and integrity.
• Stay current with Power BI updates, features, and capabilities, and recommend opportunities for innovation and optimization.
• Provide support and training to end-users on how to use Power BI dashboards and reports effectively.
• Document technical designs, data lineage, and system configurations to support knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3 to 6 years of experience working in business intelligence, data visualization, or a related field, with a focus on Power BI.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI, with hands-on experience designing and developing interactive dashboards and reports.
• Experience with data modelling, semantic layer development, and data preparation using Power BI Desktop or Power BI Service.
• Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M (Power Query Formula Language) for data manipulation and calculation.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, SQL, and ETL processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results on time.
