Senior Data Engineer – Fidelity Healthcare Technology

The Role

As a Senior Data Engineer supporting Workplace Investing (WI) - Healthcare Group (HCG), you are deeply entrenched in building data infrastructure, with a passion for using tools and frameworks to guide the development of stable, robust, and resilient data environments that best serve our business.

In an Agile structure you work closely with the Product Owner, Data Analysts, Data Modelers, and other Data Engineers assigned to squads across product areas to build scalable, flexible, and detailed data solutions that will improve the WI-HCG product offerings and speed time to market. You help to drive conformance to the WI-HCG data strategy and Enterprise Data Taxonomy. You will have to be able to work with non-technical audience to understand the intent of the feature and work with squads who know the data from business perspective in order to help Data Analysts identify proper source of data in Record Keeping platform and to understand if data is in the Data Lake and validate if the RAW or PREPARED data meets their needs.

You collaborate with other Data Engineers to establish and continually revisit standards for your IT Chapter. You influence strategic designs and build solutions to help scale our business. You are committed to staying hands-on, developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role and to empower others with that knowledge. The goal of the squad & the candidate is to research, develop and implement AI and ML methodologies to achieve business objectives.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • B.S. degree in math, statistics, computer science, or equivalent technical field.
  • 6+ years of experience in designing and delivering data lake and data warehousing solutions.
  • Strong database knowledge and proven experience with data analysis as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Fluency in SQL, Python is required, and at least one analytic tool such as OAS, Power BI, or Tableau is Preferred.
  • Solid experience with cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse, Databricks, etc.
  • Solid experience with Data warehousing Concepts, Implementation, Extract, Transform & Load development is required.
  • Data Modeling skills and experience with relational and dimension models is preferred.
  • Experience with Cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
  • Experience in DevSecOps standard and tools like Jenkins Core and GitHub or any other CICD tools preferred.
  • Experience with API architecture design concepts and development.
  • Solid experience working in a reciprocal, team-based environment with a constant focus on learning, mentoring, and encouraging others.
  • Proven understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms to ensure alignment to data engineering methodologies.
  • Experience building data pipelines and architectures and optimizing data sets.
  • Experience of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from multiple large datasets.
  • Proven understanding of modern data engineering principles and data integration patterns.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills to integrate into an inclusive culture.
  • Enthusiastic desire to learn new skills and emerging technologies/industry trends quickly.
  • Experience working with healthcare benefit administration or financial data is a plus.
