Application Lead

Position Overview:   

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Lead (Senior Software Developer) to join our team in Delhi, India. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of our Sr. Director of Global Technology and will be responsible for developing full-stack solutions and integrating them with Large Language Models (LLMs). The candidate should possess a strong background in coding, architecture, data analytics, and data science knowledge.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Technology, this role is responsible for application design, development, maintenance, and sustainability in Room to Read. This includes liaising with business owners of applications to understand needs and statuses and then establishing valid and sustainable solutions. The position is a member of multiple cross-functional teams and builds technically focused relationships with key stakeholders to ensure an accurate understanding of application needs. Optimizes applications for business applicability and proactively offers ideas for better application design, development, and/or utilization with business interests in mind.

Key Responsibilities:   

• Develop full-stack solutions that meet the needs of our various stakeholders.

• Integrate software solutions with Large Language Models (LLMs).

• Design and implement robust software architecture and frameworks.

• Conduct data analytics to support organizational decisions and strategies.

• Manage and maintain databases including MySQL, MongoDB, and MSSQL.

• Develop and deploy cloud-native applications.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy innovative software solutions.

• Ensure the scalability and reliability of software systems and applications.

• Utilize DevOps practices for continuous integration and delivery (knowledge/experience in DevOps is a plus).

• Maintain and update backend and frontend languages including Python, Java, React, Node.js.

• Design user interfaces and experiences using HTML, CSS, and UI/UX principles. 

Qualifications 

Required: 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a reputed university or college.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in software development, with a focus on full-stack solutions.

• Strong background in coding, software architecture, and data analytics.

• Sound knowledge of data science and database management (MySQL, MongoDB, MSSQL).

• Proficiency in cloud-native application development.

• Experience or knowledge in DevOps practices is a plus.

• Proficiency in backend languages (Python, Java) and frontend languages (React, Node.js).

• Experience in UI/UX design, including HTML and CSS.

Preferred:

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

• Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements.
