Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

The Bioproduct Research and Development organization strives to deliver creative medicines to patients by developing and commercializing insulins, monoclonal antibodies, novel therapeutic proteins, peptides, oligonucleotide therapies, and gene therapy systems. This multidisciplinary group works collaboratively with our discovery and manufacturing colleagues.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to drive the digital transformation of our pilot plant operations. You will lead the data flow mapping, requirements gathering, process optimization, and system integration for a modern pilot plant. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Flow Analysis: Map out the complete data flow from development to pilot plant and ultimately commercial manufacturing sites and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Paperless Operation in K360: Define the requirements of the electronic batch execution system, collaborate with Tech@Lilly implement digital solutions to enable all recipes and parameters to be updated in one system and cascaded to automation systems (e.g., MES, DCS) and repositories that seamlessly integrate with regulatory documents
• Flexible MES Systems: define and implement a flexible Manufacturing Execution System (MES) where product recipes can be updated, approved, and run within hours.
• Process Standardization through harmonized Master Data (steps, parameters, equipment), the establishment of one source for process information, and automation of synchronization.
• Data Management: Ensure data integrity, compliance, and seamless data flow between systems.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure that system designs and implementations meet business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biotech, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in API manufacturing processes, or data management within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or manufacturing industries.
• Familiarity with automation systems (e.g., MES, DCS, LIMS) and data integration principles.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify process improvements and system requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for facilitating stakeholder discussions and documenting requirements.
• Knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements for data integrity and compliance.

Additional Preferences:

• Proficiency in tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, or similar data analysis platforms is highly desired not required.
