What you’ll do:
The Principal Machine Learning Engineer will define and grow the technical vision for the Autonomy Applications Division, collaborating across teams to drive scalable, high-performance machine learning solutions that power autonomous driving capabilities.
- Lead the technical architecture for ML solutions within the Autonomy Applications Division, integrating perception, planning, and control systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design scalable, maintainable ML solutions aligned with Torc's technical vision.
- Provide technical mentorship, conduct design/code reviews, and promote best practices across engineering teams.
- Analyze software performance and guide teams in optimizing algorithms for speed, efficiency, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical issues within the Autonomy Applications stack.
- Stay current with industry trends and integrate emerging technologies where applicable.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field (Master’s/Ph.D. preferred).
- 15+ years in engineering, with a focus on real-world ML projects, robotics applications, and safety-critical systems.
- Proficiency in C++ & Python programming (PyTorch, and CUDA preferred.)
- Strong background in ML model optimization for real-time autonomous systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to align technical objectives with business goals.
- Experience with safety-certified coding, vehicle dynamics, control theory, and V&V processes.
