As a Senior Data Science Engineer, you would be working to simplify access to data within the company. Our team delivers data pipelines for a variety of different business areas and use cases. While your primary focus will be on data engineering, you will also collaborate with data scientists to develop and deploy machine learning models. Luminor Senior Data Science Engineers are not behind closed doors but are working closely together with Product Owners to deliver top-notch data solutions.

What You Will Do:

  •  Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability
  • Work within a Domain Delivery team to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Collaborate with data scientists to train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models into production systems
  • Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
  • Ensure that your work remains backed up and readily accessible to relevant coworkers
  • Remain up to date with industry standards and technological advancements that will improve the quality of your outputs
  • Capable of refining, planning, and executing data engineering requirements in close collaboration with product owners and data architects.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and provide constructive feedback. Guide junior engineers through complex problems and projects.
  • Recognize and praise innovative solutions. Encourage professional development and celebrate team achievements.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices to maintain consistency and reliability.

What We Expect: 

  • Good understanding and working knowledge of RDBMS (MS SQL/Oracle PL/SQL...)
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of ETL & BI tools (KNIME/Alteryx/SAP DS...)
  • Demonstrated expertise in Apache Airflow is an advantage
  • Good understanding and expertise in Data warehouse management and concepts
  • Fluent in Python programming and other programming languages would also be a plus
  • Exposure to utilize the AI technologies for better productivity
  • Exposure to data science model development pipeline is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading fellow data engineers in problem-solving, mentoring, code reviews, development, and educating the team on best data engineering practices.
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written, and interest in working with a diverse set of peers
  • Ability to build a shared understanding of the problems and determine potential solution
  • Ability to be self-organized, balanced and show initiative
  • Attention to details
  • Genuine enjoyment of the art of building great data solutions
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering or similar majors
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional project team
  • Familiarity and experience with common BI and Data exploration tools (e.g., Business Objects, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on Pan-Baltic level
