Perception Integration Engineer, AD/ADAS

TEAMWoven by Toyota develops, implements, and scales human-centered automated driving solutions for personal and commercial use. We develop perception technologies and its production software for the AD/ADAS system. To accomplish a reliable and functional system, we are solving complex real-world problems using large-scale data, machine learning algorithms, and a variety of perception technologies.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?The ideal candidate is self-motivated to find solutions to complex real-world problems, and makes an impact while contributing to a cross-functional team. You will combine cutting-edge technologies with robust safety standards while also considering cost efficiency. Also, you have patience to tackle the processes required for production development and approach them by asking "What can I do for you?" with a "Giver" mindset.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Building the integration process for camera perception applications for ADAS, automating tasks and triaging issues
• Implementing and optimizing the functions with HW accelerators on SoC for ADAS
• Proceeding maintainable software development with automated testing, continuous integration, and code reviews
• Investigating, analyzing and planning countermeasures of the issues on ECU such as bugs,  processing load increases and specification mismatches

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in science or engineering
• 2+ years production-related experience in embedded software development, including knowledge of computer science basics (algorithms, data structures), and UNIX-based systems (Linux or similar)
• Computer architecture understanding to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks across multiple software layers (OS/device drivers to applications)
• 2+ years with C11 / C++11, development toolchains and version control (e.g. gcc, clang, cmake, bazel, or git) for production
• Business-level proficiency in English
• You appreciate a hybrid workspace and can come to our Nihonbashi office three days per week

NICE TO HAVES

• Master’s degree in related field
• Professional experience using python and shell scripting
• Professional experience in the automotive industry e.g.: AD/ADAS field, Processes like ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, ASPICE, Development standards, e.g. AUTOSAR, MISRA, SEI CERT C++
• Hands-on experience in the following: Application development on SoC with arm64 CPU, Application development on real-time OS (e.g. QNX OS and toolchain), Application development with statistics and Machine Learning, GPGPU programming with CUDA
• Hands-on experience in the following perception technologies: computer vision, deep learning, sensors, digital signal processing 
• Hands-on experience in deploying computer vision algorithm for business applications, building infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions) for DevOps, and DevOps tool implementation for product development
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese (especially reading and listening)
