Base salary will be in the range $113,377.67 - $127,112.24+ 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to support data-driven decision-making within Future Students and Admissions. This role provides statistical analysis, reporting, and strategic insights to senior leadership, contributing to international and domestic student recruitment and admissions strategies.
Reporting directly to the Director, Future Students and Admissions this position plays a crucial role in leveraging data analytics to maintain UQ’s competitive advantage in the higher education sector. You will develop advanced reports, predictive models, and interactive dashboards to provide actionable insights, ensuring compliance with government reporting requirements while driving innovation in student recruitment and admissions.
Key responsibilities will include:
Analyse & report on recruitment and admissions performance, creating dashboards and insights for senior stakeholders.
Develop predictive models to forecast student behaviour and application trends.
Lead UQ’s submissions for external reporting, ensuring compliance and benchmarking.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to streamline data systems and enhance reporting.
Identify opportunities for AI-driven analytics, process improvements, and automation.
Provide training and mentorship to improve data literacy and evidence-based decision-making.

Postgraduate qualifications in data science, analytics, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and extensive experience in the higher education sector.
Demonstrated experience in advanced data analytics, reporting, and predictive modelling in a complex organisational environment.
Proficiency in data analytics tools and software (e.g., SAP Business Objects, Power BI, Python, R, SQL, or Tableau).
Strong understanding of machine learning and AI methodologies, with experience in practical implementation.
Ability to analyse and interpret complex data to inform strategic decisions, including demonstrated experience in developing and writing reports in a corporate context.
Experience in developing and implementing innovative solutions to organisational challenges.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior executives.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
Familiarity with the Australian higher education landscape, including government reporting requirements (e.g., PRISMS data).
Desirable
Knowledge and understanding of university corporate systems, organisation structures and functions, or the capacity to rapidly gain such skills.
Deep understanding of the higher education sector in an international and national context.
