Internal Audit Vision
Internal Audit evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of all worldwide internal control processes on a rotating basis considering significance and risk as a service to Senior Management and the Board of Directors. The Internal Audit process encompasses the following major activities:
- Evaluate the adequacy of the Company's system of internal controls to ensure the safeguarding and protection of assets from loss, reliability and integrity of financial information and compliance with policies, plans, procedures, and applicable laws & regulations.
- Support management in optimizing internal controls by appraising the economy and efficiency with which resources are employed.
- Review processes and financial, operational and IT data to determine whether it is consistent with established objectives, goals, policies, and external regulatory requirements.
The Data Analytics Intern position will report directly to the Manager, Internal Audit, and will assist in visualizing and translating data to bring insight to cross functional leaders and teams across embecta. The data will provide insights to the Internal Audit team and increase efficiency in the audit process. Responsibilities will include collaboration and partnership with various stakeholders across IT and business functions as well as the following:
Business Impact –Intern will work on challenging and important assignments by enhancing Data Analytics capabilities within the Internal Audit Department.
Collaboration- Engage with different teams in various locations, providing an opportunity to develop new skills and explore multiple career paths.
Coaching and Development – Internal Audit team members will provide interns with career mentorship and advice throughout the program.
Leadership Visibility – The summer intern will have the opportunity to work with leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with internal audit projects including planning, fieldwork and wrap-up.
- Work with other internal audit team members to identify opportunities to integrate data analytics into the internal audit process.
- Gather requirements from stakeholders to establish key business metrics, predictions, and insights for data-driven decisions.
- Develop and improve existing visualizations/dashboard sand other analytics to enhance the effectiveness of the internal audit process.
- Support Internal Audit by communicating the data insights to the respective stakeholders.
Basic Requirements:
- B.S. in Business Administration, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or a data analytics related field.
- Working towards an MS in Data Science or Applied Analytics.
- Understanding of data modeling and analytics tools like Tableau, Power BI and SQL.
- Reporting and analytics design and development knowledge.
- Descriptive, Predictive, and Prescriptive analytics development knowledge.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with business applications such as SAP ECC and S/4, Concur, and SAP Group Reporting is a plus.
- Strong analytical, leadership and communication skills.
- Comfortable working and learning independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multiple levels in the organization.
