Job Description

Are you looking for a patient-focused, innovation-driven company to inspire you and empower you to shine? Join us as the Business Intelligence and Innovation Lead, Associate Director, an individual contributor role responsible for the most technical aspects of People Analytics at Takeda. You will leverage a variety of skills, including data Extract / Transform / Load, data visualization, process automation and data science to drive new capabilities and insights to allow Takeda to better support its employees and organizational goals. You will report directly to the Head of People Analytics and is a hybrid role located in Lexington/Cambridge, MA USA.

Lead development and execution of our data environment and analytical capability roadmap.

How you will contribute:

  • Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to predict employee outcomes such as behavior, performance, and attrition and to understand the factors that impact the outcome of interest with an understanding of the specific complexities working with people data entails.
  • Analyze and interpret data related to employee demographics, performance, engagement, and retention to identify trends and patterns.
  • Responsibly leverage Generative AI, Large Language models and deep learning to pull insights from large pools of people data.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in people analytics and data science, and contribute to the development of new methodologies and tools.
  • Partner with the HR technology team, IT, and various other stakeholders to ensure that our data environment meets the organization's needs, that we are leveraging the best tools available for our work and partnering with other parts of the organization where that is the best path.
  • Efficiently surface critical information to HR and the broader organization to enable self-service insights and monitor for changes in our workforce.
  • Be a champion for the power of data science in the People Analytics team, and help upskill to better leverage new methodologies to drive people insights.
  • Make connections between business questions, HR expertise and analytical possibilities to prioritize work and get organization buy-in on solutions.
  • Be a strong advocate and defender of Data Privacy and partner with stakeholders in HR, Ethics & Compliance, Data Privacy, Legal, etc.… to ensure that we are compliant, respectful, and transparent about the work that we do.

Expected skills:

  • Bachelor's degree minimum requirement in Technical (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) or Quantitative (Mathematics, Physics, Economics, etc.)
  • 8 years' experience in data science required, people analytics preferred
  • Expertise in multivariate statistics, (e.g., machine learning, multiple regression, structural equation modeling, trend analyses).
  • Expertise in statistical software package(s) (e.g., data query tools, SQL, Python, Data Bricks).
  • Experience in data acquisition and transformation, with an ability to both partner with technology teams and self-serve.
  • Agile and able to work in ambiguous situations; experience in leading self and others to resolve issues with higher levels of management; Identify and resolve complex, technical operational and organizational problems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to distill and articulate key messages to executives, stakeholders and customers.
  • Understanding of multiple functions of HR (e.g. Compensation, Benefits, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Learning and Development, HR Operations and Technology, Organizational Development, and/or Change Management).

This is a hybrid role which requires being in the office at least 5 days per month.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$149,100.00 - $234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
