AI/ML Computer Vision Engineer

Responsibilities and Duties

The Senior Computer Vision Engineer will develop, refine, and deploy computer vision algorithms for autonomous flight applications, and integrate them onto robotics platforms that range from small drones to helicopters. This position will focus on developing an AI pipeline and machine learning (ML) algorithms. You will use ML infrastructure to implement solutions to identify the world and track objects within sight. 

As a Senior engineer you will provide technical leadership to guide projects through the complete lifecycle from conception through production.We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated independent thinkers, passionate about state-of-the-art technology; also self-starting, empathetic team players, and strong communicators. The ideal candidate for this position can multitask effectively, is comfortable working on a quick development tempo, is comfortable testing software in the field, and most importantly enjoys bringing new autonomy technology to life.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years’ of industry experience in aerospace, robotics or autonomous flight domains.
  • Background or significant experience in machine learning and deep learning.
  • Strong Python and C++ design and programming skills.
  • Experience using ML frameworks such as YOLO, TensorRT, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Experience with dataset schema for training computer vision models such as COCO.
  • Experience with tools for managing ML models across their lifecycle, including training, testing, and deploying models.
  • Familiarity with software engineering practices and software development life cycle.
  • Familiarity with development in a Linux environment.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Experience with ROS or ROS2.
  • Experience with field testing of robotic systems.
  • Experience designing, building, training, and deploying computer vision models to small GPU-enabled devices.
  • Experience with MIPI camera integration.
  • Proven ability to lead technical development on a project within schedule and budget constraints.
