Data Analyst (Multiple Positions)
Selected personnel will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division’s (NSWCCD) Naval Architecture and Engineering Department (Code 80) in the performance of research, engineering and naval architecture on surface ships, submarines, small craft, specialized platforms including sea based aviation platforms and off-board systems such as amphibious vehicles, autonomous and unmanned vehicles, off-board vehicles, stationary or submersible rigs, tethered systems, and towed or moored sensor systems in the areas of hull forms; propulsion; platform dynamics;
hydrodynamics; and conceptual and preliminary design.
Code 80 provides naval architecture and engineering services for research and development (R&D) and acquisition programs, as well as direct support to the Fleet by conducting full-scale trials and solving operational challenges in the hydrodynamic areas of maneuvering, seakeeping, propellers, towed devices, and related technical areas. In addition, Code 80 supports the Fleet with ongoing operational, data-analytics based assessments of naval systems.
Responsibilities may include:
- Collect, review, and analyze information in order to make recommendations to the customer.
- Prepare and solve mathematical models.
- Document findings using both written and oral reporting formats
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- US Citizenship
- SECRET Security Clearance
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a business or technical field, or in lieu of a degree:
- For Junior-level consideration: Minimum of 4 years' experience as a data/program analyst developing, updating, modifying, and analyzing technical and business data, electronic spreadsheets, documents, and briefing materials for US Navy programs.
- For Mid-level consideration: Minimum of 7 years' experience as a data/program analyst developing, updating, modifying, and analyzing technical and business data, electronic spreadsheets, documents, and briefing materials for US Navy programs.
- For Senior-level consideration: Minimum of 10 years' experience as a data/program analyst developing, updating, modifying, and analyzing technical and business data, electronic spreadsheets, documents, and briefing materials for US Navy programs.
- Relevant professional experience in a related field:
- For Junior-level consideration: None
- For Mid-level consideration: Minimum of 4 years
- For Senior-level consideration: Minimum of 8 years
The majority of vacancies require full-time employment. However, some positions may allow part-time employment.
