Data Analytics Expert (Tableau)

Key Responsibilities

• Tableau Server Administration: Start, stop, restart, and configure Tableau Server, including SSL certificate management and troubleshooting.
• Dashboard Development: Design and build complex Tableau Desktop dashboards, incorporating advanced calculations and visualizations to meet business needs.
• SQL Mastery: Write complex SQL queries, including Common Table Expressions (CTEs), to extract and manipulate data efficiently.
• Python Development: Build Python functions to integrate with data systems, leveraging coding skills to enhance analytics solutions.
• Data & Warehousing: Apply functional knowledge of data warehousing to ensure data integrity and proper structure.
• Permissions & Publications: Manage Tableau Server permissions, publish content, and ensure security compliance.
• Agile Collaboration: Work within an agile framework, estimate task timelines, distribute workloads effectively, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Cross-Team Support: Assist team members with technical problems, troubleshoot collaboratively, and provide solutions.
• Basic JS/HTML Troubleshooting: Read and interpret JavaScript/HTML to help troubleshoot and support internal simulations.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of processes, dashboards, and configurations.
• Requirements Gathering & Functional Analysis: Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and perform functional analysis.

Required Technical Skills

• General knowledge of Azure Virtual Machines.
• Proficiency with Linux commands for server management and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Tableau Server administration (start, stop, SSL setup, performance tuning).
• Knowledge of Tableau Desktop for dashboard creation and publication on Tableau Server.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, including experience with complex queries (CTEs, joins, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python for building and integrating functions.
• Experience with data warehousing and understanding of data architecture.
• Familiarity with Git/Bitbucket for version control and collaboration.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies for task and project management.
• Strong documentation skills to ensure process clarity and consistency.
• Basic ability to read and understand JavaScript/HTML for troubleshooting.

Job Mission Statement

As a Tableau Server & Data Solutions Specialist, your mission is to ensure the seamless operation, development, and optimization of our data analytics infrastructure. You will be responsible for managing and administering Tableau Server, handling performance, configuration, SSL certificates, and troubleshooting.

Additionally, you will design and maintain complex Tableau Desktop dashboards, utilizing strong SQL and Python expertise to implement advanced calculations and drive business insights.

Your role involves collaborating with data and analytics teams to gather requirements, perform functional analysis, and align the data infrastructure with organizational goals. You will leverage your knowledge of data warehousing and agile methodologies to ensure efficient task distribution and timely project completion.

You will also support your team by solving technical challenges, utilizing expertise in Linux commands, Azure Virtual Machines, Git/Bitbucket, and Python. A basic understanding of JavaScript and HTML will help in troubleshooting and enhancing data simulations. Finally, thorough documentation and cross-functional collaboration will be key to maintaining data integrity, scalability, and innovation in our data operations.
