The Role
We recognize Data as a critical strategic driver to fuel our growth ambition. We are seeking a highly motivated Data Governance Analyst to help us implement and maintain our Data Governance framework. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task at various levels within the business, across platforms and business areas, and be comfortable with both business and technical environments.
The Data Governance Analyst will play a crucial role to influence the direction and to support the delivery of our Data Governance program of work. You will collaborate with various business and technology teams to define the critical data elements, and to govern the data through ownership, definitions, and lineage.
- Engage with Data Owners, Technology, and SMEs to create and maintain a data dictionary and metadata repository
- Standardise data definitions, lineage, and data issue resolution processes
- Contribute and help facilitate the running of Data Governance Forum
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Data Governance framework, policies, procedures, and standards
- Partner with senior business stakeholders across various functions to ensure data is accurate, complete, and properly managed.
- Support the delivery of data governance training programs to improve awareness among business users.
- Contribute to the creation and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for the Data Governance program.
- Assist in the creation and monitoring of data validation reports, data cleansing, analysis, interpretation, and visualization.
- Facilitate root cause review and remediation through changes to operational processes or additional controls.

The Requirements:
- Experience working as a Data Governance practitioner or in a similar role
- Experience with Data Governance methodologies and tools (Purview preferred).
- Strong logical and diagnostic skills, strong problem-solving skills, and high attention to detail while understanding the bigger picture
- Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate with business and technology teams to drive results
- Experience in stakeholder management, with a focus on business partnership and collaboration.
- Awareness of the regulatory environment and challenges within it.
- Ability to understand data gaps in current business processes and facilitate a program of improvement.
- Proficient in querying data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL, Excel, PowerBI) and data visualization.
Other Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the investments or financial services industry.
- Relevant data governance certifications (e.g., DAMA CDMP, DCAM).
- Understanding of Master Data Management and reference data.
- Experience with risk management practices and data quality management.
