In the Data team at Tibber you’ll be a vital part of Tibber’s mission to empower the clever by using data and technology to make it easier for our customers to make smarter energy choices. The Data team is a group of data engineers, analytics engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and quantitative engineers working together to break new ground in how to efficiently process, analyze and deliver data in a way that creates new insights and enables better decision-making for our customers.

As a Data Engineer you’ll be building the foundation of our data capabilities, helping to continue to push the boundaries of how to more efficiently process the vast amounts of data that power our data-driven solutions.

Build and maintain scalable, robust, and efficient data pipelines in a modern cloud environment, ensuring our platform reliably supports growing data demands.

Design and develop data ingestion and processing frameworks that streamline the flow of information, delivering timely and accurate data to power insights.

Own and evolve the infrastructure behind our data platform, leveraging emerging technologies to bolster stability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional data teams to clarify needs and craft data-driven solutions, elevating user experiences and unlocking new possibilities.

Stay curious about the latest industry trends, offering ideas to refine architecture, scalability, and governance across diverse data use cases.

Iterate and refine workflows based on stakeholder feedback, team insights, and the evolving requirements of a dynamic energy market.

Data Pipeline Expertise. A track record of 3+ years building ingestion and transformation frameworks that can handle large, fast-growing datasets with ease.

Data Modeling & Storage. Strong foundations in crafting efficient data structures, database designs, and storage solutions that optimize performance and reliability.

Technical Mastery. You’re highly proficient with Python and SQL, and have hands-on experience with Databricks, dbt, ThoughtSpot. At least some working knowledge of Spark and AWS would also be beneficial

DevOps Know-How. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git) to ensure smooth, automated deployments and maintenance.

Security & Compliance. Solid understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices, helping us maintain trust and integrity across diverse data systems.
