Within our Global Banking & Markets business, Prime Brokerage Technology is a key engineering group devoted to building and maintaining a platform for clients to conduct business with the firm. 

Our engineers are involved in the entire product life cycle, from working with users and product managers to determine requirements, collaborating with other engineers to develop new APIs and UIs, engaging with penetration testers to ensure security and data protection, to deploying your code to users across the globe. Our team works with modern Typescript, Java, and Python frameworks and uses a variety of databases, caches, and queues to solve specific problems. Within our team, you will have ample opportunities to be curious, to solve problems for our clients, and directly impact the success of our business.

Our ideal candidate will work on various projects and components as part of our global team. You will be a change agent with capability to transform Goldman Sachs by applying your technical acumen. You will be enabled to combine the best open source software, databases, cloud solutions, and programming languages to solve problems and provide accurate, complex, scalable applications that help our business and clients gain new insights.

We are looking for someone with lots of energy that has excellent communication skills, enjoys engineering challenges, has a passion to deliver high quality technology products, and is able to operate in a highly fluid, rapidly changing environment. 

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience developing web applications.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or similar.
• Knowledge of popular design patterns and algorithms.
• Excellent programming skills in a major programming language.
• Experience designing scalable and reliable systems, with a focus on APIs / modularity.
• Efficient and effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with front-end development libraries such as React.JS or Angular.
• Experience with mainstream web transports such as REST and WebSockets.
• Experience with back-end frameworks such as Dropwizard, Spring, Flask or FastAPI.
• Experience with SQL and noSQL databases and systems such as Postgres, OpenSearch / ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Redis/Valkey and Hazelcast.
• Familiarity with unit-testing and end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD patterns and tools such as JavaScript bundlers, containerized deployments, and Python packaging.
• Knowledge of financial markets.
