This position will be responsible for creating high quality data sets to be used for reporting and analytics. The Analytics Engineer will design, build, and maintain relevant data sets that enable the Business Intelligence and Data Science teams to do their jobs more effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong SQL background for analytics, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with the Business Intelligence and Data Services teams.   

• Collaborate with Business Intelligence stakeholders to gather business logic and design data sets of key metrics
• Utilize strong SQL skills to aggregate and calculate a diverse set of metrics for further analysis by Business Intelligence and Data Science teams
• Maintain documentation and implement version control for data sets that will be the source of truth for business metrics and KPIs
• Monitor and test existing data sets for accuracy and reliability.
• Work with our Data Services team to develop data warehouse assets that optimize data efficiency and quality
• Make recommendations for BI data sets with SQL improvements and promote consistency with documented definitions
• Curate a data catalog to support effective analytics and reporting

 Qualifications 

• 2+ years as a Data Engineer, BI Developer, Data Analyst or similar role with a strong technical background
• Experience writing performant SQL that is easy to read and troubleshoot for data modelling and analytics
• Familiar with relational databases (Postgres, Redshift, MS SQL) and Data Warehousing concepts
• Experience with DBT or similar data transformation tool
• Experience with Power BI or a similar analytics tool
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Preferred experience with a development language such as Python
• Preferred experience with software engineering best practices such as version control (git) and code reviews
