Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to integrate data science practices across business applications, ensuring successful delivery of data science projects.
  • Undertake data-related initiatives by identifying key business challenges and crafting viable data science solutions, particularly in areas such as Claim Fraud-Waste-Abuse detection and Datamart development.
  • Execute big data analytics processes, handling large datasets from various sources, including data cleansing, transformation, analysis, and deployment.
  • Work closely with Data Science team members using Agile Scrum methodologies to enhance project efficiency and outcomes.
  • Initiate innovative proof-of-concept projects in data science, utilizing cloud capabilities to develop advanced AI models (e.g., Machine Learning, ChatGPT, Document Understanding).
  • Support the transition of business processes to data and cloud-based solutions, promoting awareness and knowledge-sharing across the organization.

 

Qualifications:

  • Relevant project experience in data science or analytics.
  • Pursuing a degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Science).
  • Familiarity with AI, predictive modeling, big data analysis, and data science methodologies (e.g., ChatGPT, LLM, Neural Networks).
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as PySpark, Python, R, and SQL.
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS, Databricks) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Understanding of Agile Scrum frameworks; experience as a Scrum Master is an asset.
  • Previous exposure to or knowledge of the insurance industry is advantageous.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in English, with knowledge of Cantonese or Mandarin preferred.
