This project is a collaborative effort between R&D at Arla Foods Ingredients and the Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University.

How you will make an impact

At Arla Foods Ingredients, you will work with and be supervised by experts in mass spectrometry, analytical chemistry, nutrition science, and dairy science. You will also collaborate closely with external partners at Aarhus University, where you will have a desk and be supervised by experts in data visualization and machine learning.

Who are you?

You hold a PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field. Your expertise includes visualization and bioinformatic investigation of complex datasets, such as dimensionality reduction, clustering, and aggregation. You are curious and eager to understand mass spectrometry, protein digestion, and dairy science.

In addition, you preferably have competences within the following disciplines:
 

• Knowledge of data analytics techniques and tools, including machine learning and data visualization.
• Extensive research experience with proven documentation (e.g., peer-reviewed publications).
• Experience in analyzing and interpreting large datasets using programming languages (e.g., Python).
• Proficiency in building stand-alone software solutions for research (e.g., web-based software).

Beyond scientific competence, to succeed in this role, you:
 

• Thrive in complex data handling and developing new data visualisation techniques
• Act in responsibly and independently with a strong personal drive
• Communicate science effectively, both in writing and orally, to scientists and non-scientists (fluent in English)
• Takes pride in delivering transparent programming code
