Job Description Summary 

We are actively recruiting candidates to participate in our 2025 On-site Summer Internship program. This program is roughly 12 weeks in length and will immerse you in the culture and operations of Lonza Vacaville.  

This role will be working with our data lead and assisting with the archival process of Work Orders. This role is expected to help read, categorize, and analyze work orders with the help of system owners and subject matter experts. Develop a process and coding to extract data from CMMS and display it onto the dashboard to show daily costs, work order counts, and labor hours dedicated to a particular asset. They will also provide support in analyzing work orders that would assess asset and component conditions.  This role will require knowledge of MS Excel as well as script writing. 

The internship program begins May 27th, 2025, or June 16th, 2025. Potential interns must be able to commit to 40 hours per week throughout the duration of the summer internship.
 

Required Education 

• Completion of junior year (typically 90 credits) towards a B.S. degree in Computer Science, Biology or a related STEM field degree program.

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4) required 

• Must currently be enrolled in BS or MS Academic Program 

Required Skills & Experience 

• Programming Experience with Java, C++, Python, SQL or full stack required 

• Experience developing scripts / macros in Visual Basic 

• SAP Experience is a plus but not required 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills 

• Problem solving and team collaboration 

• Self-motivation and the ability to contribute as a team member 

• Ability to organize, plan and execute projects 

• Research skills and attention to detail

 About Vacaville 

Our Lonza Vacaville site is a commercial, multi-product manufacturing facility located in Vacaville, California, 53 miles north of San Francisco. The site, which employs over 780 employees, is a large‑scale mammalian cell culture production facility designed around the monoclonal antibody (MAb) platform.   It is one of the Drug Substance production sites in the Lonza Biologics production network.  The site consists of two large-scale manufacturing facilities (CCP1 and CCP2), a hub warehouse, and QC laboratories that serve both local and network production operations. 

We offer an onsite cafeteria and other amenities. The city of Vacaville is near Napa vineyards, and a few hours' drive to national parks such as Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. 

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge. The full-time hourly rate for this position is expected to range between $26 - $38.
