The Communication Software Implementation Department (CSID) develops novel algorithms and prototypes using software defined radios to enable the space enterprise. We are subject matter experts who provide technical advice to our customers on satellite communication systems and use state-of-the-art algorithms to build our customer’s future capabilities. 

Work Model: This position has some flexibility to be hybrid; however, the position is mostly on-site in El Segundo, CA or Colorado Springs, CO due to the classified nature of the work.

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Build prototypes for:

    • Classic signals processing

    • Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) signal processing

  • Deliver tech demos and briefings to internal stakeholders and to external customers 

  • Provide technical guidance and insight to external customers 

  • Develop the department’s business network with the customer program office

What You Need to be Successful - Senior Engineering Specialist

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline 

  • Minimum of ten years of related experience with a combination of modern communication system engineering, digital signal processing, or AI/ML comm expertise

  • Experience with developing within a Linux environment 

  • Strong coding experience in C++, Python, or Matlab

  • Proven technical leadership skills with project leadership from initial concept to project execution or business development experience with the US Government customer

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government.  U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

  

How You Can Stand Out 

  • Software defined radio development (GNU Radio) or experience with USRP or similar SDR platforms 

  • Experience with best practices for DevOps and MLOps

  • Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$166,400 - $249,600

Pay Basis: Annual
